Colleagues

I count myself privileged to share the Bay with several very talented colleagues in maritime photography. Though we almost always work independently, I know each one personally, and regard each one with respect and admiration for the great work they do.

  • Abner Kingman
  • Abner is a regular contributor to national and international sailing magazines. Abner covers anything from windsurfing and kiteboarding to yacht racing to commercial fishing and shipping. He's easy to spot on the water in his blue Titan 249 Offshore with a custom shooting platform atop the console. Abner takes some seriously amazing photos, and he writes as well as he shoots.

  • Sandra Cannon
  • Sandra is well-established as the leading maritime stock and aerial photographer on San Francisco Bay. She's put together a diverse portfolio of images of just about everything in the Bay Area, from nature and landscape to night scenes to architecture to sailing and watersports. Sandra has a degree in cinematography, and can put together professional HD video footage for you in addition to still photography. (photo: Fred Larson)

  • Mariah Healy
  • Mariah has been a fixture at San Francisco Bay sailing events for several years now, and has been shooting longer still. She's built an archive of fantastic shots. Mariah and her husband Jon (the intrepid captain of their photo boat) make a great team on the water. And I really enjoy pulling alongside for a chat when the wind is light!

  • Erik Simonson
  • Erik Simonson has been sailing, windsurfing and shooting marine oriented imagery on SF Bay longer than any other local photographer, and his photos and writing have been published in a multitude of national and international publications since the early 90's. Look for him on the Bay in his new photo boat in 2008!

  • Chris Ray
  • Chris is a long-time active member of the St. Francis Yacht Club, and is often seen aboard their committee or crash boats shooting away during various events. Even though he moved with his wife to London in 2007, he travels frequently and seems to still catch most major regattas.
